RC skydiving (short for radio-controlled skydiving) is a niche but exciting branch of the aeromodelling hobby, where enthusiasts use remote-controlled parachutist figures that are dropped from RC aircraft and guided safely to the ground via radio control.
🪂 What it involves:

A scale model skydiver equipped with a parachute

A drop platform is installed on an RC plane / drone / helicopter

The paratrooper is released from the drop mechanism

The pilot uses a radio transmitter to deploy the parachute and control the descent
🤔 How it works:

The skydiver has servo-controlled arms connected to the parachute’s steering lines.

Moving the arms pulls on the lines, adjusting the canopy’s shape and direction—just like a real skydiver.

The skydiver features a remotely activated parachute release system.
🛠️ How are they made?

The skydivers' parts are laser cutted and 3D printed.

Each skydiver is carefully assembled and equipped with electronics.

Templates are used to cut all the parachute parts in the fabric.

The parachute is handmade with a sewing machine.

The lines are tied one by one on the canopy.
